Ozayr Patel

Ozayr Patel is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in editorial roles, currently serving as the Climate and Environment editor at Mail & Guardian since August 2022. Prior to this, Ozayr held the position of Digital editor at The Conversation Africa from April 2015 to August 2022, focusing on innovative storytelling through podcasts and video. Earlier experience includes serving as the energy and environment editor for The Conversation Media Group and as Sport and Online Producer at eNCA. Additionally, Ozayr worked as a Content Controller for SuperSport from September 2011 to September 2013. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Journalism and Media Studies and an Honours degree in the same field from the University of the Witwatersrand, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Johannesburg.
