Abby Kaija is an experienced research assistant currently working at MaineHealth Institute for Research as a Mouse Transgenic & Genome Modification CORE Research Assistant III since October 2021. Previously, Abby held various roles including Farm Hand at Cedar Mountain Farm & Cobb Hill Cheese, Climate Resilience Volunteer at Vital Communities, and Genetics Student Researcher at Dickinson College. Additional experience includes serving as Watershed Coordinator for Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring, Entomology Research Intern at Stroud Water Research Center, and participating in environmental initiatives at Dickinson College and the Student Conservation Association. Abby earned a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Dickinson College, complemented by a Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and studied Biology and Wildlife Management at The School for Field Studies.
