Kevin Walters

Kevin Walters has had a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Kevin currently holds the position of Senior Director of Product Operations at Mainspring Energy, a role they have been in since August 2023. Prior to this, Kevin served as the Senior Director of Hardware Engineering at the same company from March 2021 to August 2023, and as the Director of Mechanical Systems from September 2018 to March 2021.

Before joining Mainspring Energy, Kevin worked at EtaGen, Inc. as a Mechanical Engineer for almost 10 years, starting in November 2011 and continuing until March 2021. At EtaGen, they were responsible for engineering mechanical systems.

Kevin's career also includes serving as a Senior Associate at Exponent Failure Analysis Associates, where they worked from April 2008 to November 2011. Kevin began their professional journey as a Research Assistant at both Stanford University and the Sandia National Laboratory, Livermore, before that.

Kevin holds a Ph.D. and started their research career as a Research Assistant at the Colorado School of Mines from June 2000 to May 2003.

Kevin Walters holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, which they obtained from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they completed their MSc in Engineering Systems at the Colorado School of Mines from 2001 to 2003. Kevin also earned a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in Field Safety Orientation from Chevron Rockies Business Unit in 2023.
