Michael Kornak

Michael Kornak is a Managing Director in the Partner Practice Group. Drawing on his extensive experience as the co-head of recruiting at his prior law firm, Mike helps partners, partner groups and law firms navigate the lateral-recruiting marketplace. He prides himself on building long-term relationships with his clients and working with them to identify and achieve their individual and organizational goals.

Before joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Mike was a litigation partner at Freeborn & Peters, where he represented his clients in federal and state courts across the country. Mike was involved in recruiting at Freeborn for over 20 years and served as one of the firm’s hiring partners. While at Freeborn, he was also a member of the firm’s professional review committee, a work-allocation partner and the head of the firm’s closely-held business practice group.

Earlier in his career, Mike worked at Kirkland & Ellis and also clerked for the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder, Circuit Judge, United States Circuit Court for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
