Partner & Recruiter In-house Practice Group at Major, Lindsey & Africa

Robert Graff is a Partner on the In-House Counsel Recruiting team and co-Managing Partner of the Atlanta office. Since 1998, Bob has worked on a wide variety of in-house placements, specializing in general counsel searches for PE-backed portfolio companies for firms such as Roark Capital, Francisco Partners, Ares, Towerbrook, Vista Equity and GenStar Capital. He also regularly works in the fintech space for payments and specialty finance clients as well as consumer goods and healthcare organizations. Bob has placed more than 300 attorneys in-house ranging from junior counsel to general counsel and covering the full spectrum of practice areas. He has helped advance search methodology at Major, Lindsey & Africa.

While bringing a little humor and fun to the otherwise stressful process of job hunting and hiring, Bob provides both candidates and clients with a superior level of service. He enjoys being a career coach to hundreds of lawyers every year and finding many of them opportunities that change their lives. And he shares his passion for law department metrics with his clients to help guide them to make strategic hiring and organizational development decisions.

Bob has been married to his wife Janet since 1983, and they have successfully and joyfully raised three children who are all gainfully employed in their fields of choice. In his free time, Bob enjoys spending time with his family, running, tennis, yard work and singing in his church choir. While in law school, Bob earned his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

In his time with Major, Lindsey & Africa, Bob has served in two management roles. From 2008–2010, he served as the Global Practice Manager of In-House Counsel Recruiting, where he drove strategy and policy for the practice group globally, and directly managed the in-house recruiting efforts for the East Coast offices (Boston through Houston). Then from 2011–2013, he served as the first Vice President, Global Business Development and was responsible for developing closer relationships with the corporate clients. In that role, he met with more than 200 general counsel to discuss their human capital strategy.

Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Bob held a number of senior sales and marketing positions with companies including Enstar Communications, HBO & Company (now part of McKesson) and the Patient Focused Care Association.
