Matt Schabel

Matt Schabel has a diverse work experience in various industries. Matt started their career as a Certified Athletic Trainer, working for companies like Ascension, Aurora Health Care, and California State University, Chico. During this time, they conducted user interviews, crafted surveys, and addressed user needs.

Matt also has experience in the creative field, working as a Songwriter and Artist. Matt effectively planned release schedules, collaborated with other musicians, and ran targeted ads to reach their audience.

In terms of their UX design experience, Matt worked as a User Experience Designer for MyHealthConnect, where they revamped and pivoted designs according to the team's concerns. Matt also worked as a UX Designer for Coursera, completing three end-to-end UX Design projects.

Matt has also worked as an Audio Engineer for the Buzzed with Brian Podcast and as a Freelance Writer and Editor.

Currently, Matt is serving as a Project Manager and Product Leader at Maka Health - Get Healthy, Stay Healthy. In this role, they initiate user research, translates concepts into user flows, and works on user-testing experiences for digital products. Prior to this, they worked as a UX Designer and Member Product Lead at Maka Health.

Matt Schabel completed their Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training/Trainer from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. Matt pursued further education and obtained their Master of Arts in Athletic Training/Trainer from California State University, Chico, between the years 2016 and 2018. In 2021, Matt pursued a Professional Certificate in UX Design from Coursera, which they completed in 2022. Additionally, they obtained a Google UX Design Professional Certificate from Coursera in March 2022.
