Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi

Group COO at Malaysia Airlines

Ahmad Luqman was appointed Group Chief Operations Officer (GCOO) of Malaysia Airlines Berhad overseeing Operations and Engineering for the Malaysia Aviation Group of companies in February 2018. He is an internally grown talent who started his career with Malaysia Airlines as a management trainee over 20 years ago.

Prior to his appointment as GCOO, Luqman was CEO of MAB Kargo, the cargo subsidiary of MAG, a role he held since Sept 2015.

Under his tenure, MAB Kargo saw an 18% growth in business volume through freighter network realignment and strategic partnerships. Luqman led a transformation programme for MAB Kargo that further strengthened the financial performance, air cargo service delivery and retaining its position as the leading air cargo carrier in Malaysia. MAB Kargo also embarked on a digital transformation journey under Luqman’s leadership to capitalize on the growth of e-Commerce business in the region.

Luqman holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Syracuse University. He also completed the Business Leader Development Programme from the University of Oxford in 2016. He excels in data analytical skills, strategy formation and implementation and is a team leader with strong sense of ownership.
