Michiel van Cortenberghe

Michiel van Cortenberghe has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. Michiel started their career at KPMG, where they participated in their Global Trainee Program, gaining exposure to various clients and industries. Michiel then joined A.P. Moller - Maersk, where they held positions such as Finance Manager, Vice President Finance, CFO, and Finance Director, overseeing financial operations in South America, Mexico, and the USA. Michiel later joined Vopak, where they served as Director of Business Development, Global Finance Director, and Finance Director for The Americas, focusing on investment decisions, cash flow improvements, and growth strategies. Currently, they are working as the Director of Finance at Mammoet.

Michiel van Cortenberghe earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Accounting and Finance from the University of Groningen, where they studied from 1989 to 1994. Michiel also has obtained several additional certifications throughout their career, including Data & Analytics Foundation training for leadership from MIcompany in 2021, an Advanced Leadership Program from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford in 2018, and Understanding the Modern Pension Landscape from WTW in 2016.
