Ian Shepherd

Ian Shepherd has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ian is currently serving as the Head of Architecture at Manchester United since May 2023, where they lead the Architecture function in the Technology department, developing architecture visions, strategies, and roadmaps to support the club's objectives.

Prior to this, Ian worked at TalkTalk from 2010 to 2022. Ian'sroles included Enterprise Architect, where they shaped the technical strategy and future state vision for the TalkTalk Direct domain, and Lead Architect, where they led architecture definition and design in both the online and business support domains.

Before joining TalkTalk, Ian held various roles at Carphone Warehouse Networks from 2005 to 2010, including Solution Designer and Development Team Leader, where they were responsible for solution design and guiding development in the operational support domain.

Ian'scareer began at Opal Telecom PLC in 2000 as a Software Engineer, where they worked until 2004. Prior to that, they were a System Developer at Fraiser Williams Logistics from 1999 to 2000.

Throughout their career, Ian has demonstrated expertise in architecture development, solution design, and team leadership across domains such as digital presence, CRM, order management, and billing systems.

Ian Shepherd completed their education history with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The University of Sheffield, graduating in 1999 with a 2:1 classification. Before attending university, they attended Rainhill High School from 1989 to 1996. In terms of additional certifications, Ian obtained the Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in February 2021. Ian also pursued the Intermediate Certificate in Enterprise & Solution Architecture and the Practitioner Certificate in Enterprise & Solution Architecture from BCS, but the specific months and years of obtaining these certifications are unknown.
