Uche Nwankwo was born in Nigeria and came to Canada in 2008. He is married, has four children, and has proudly lived in the constituency of Waverley since 2015.
Uche received his doctorate in Agricultural Economics from Humboldt University in 2010 and has been a lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Winnipeg since 2012.
Before he joined the university, Uche worked as a Research Assistant at the Natural Resource Institute at the University of Manitoba — focusing on food security in Manitoba’s Indigenous communities. He is currently working on a second Master’s Degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Manitoba.
Uche is a community organizer who is actively involved in his community. As one of his passion projects, he has coordinated the collection and donation of textbooks, computers, laptops, and medical supplies to universities, high schools, and primary schools in developing countries. Uche continues to dedicate his skills and knowledge towards improving the lives of others by improving their education.
