THE ROLE

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of Manna’s ultra-light drones. You’ll take ownership of critical systems including the airframe, propulsion, avionics, and ground systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards for safety, performance, and environmental responsibility. This role is perfect for someone with a proven track record in delivering complex projects in fast-paced, agile environments. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the mechanical design and development of Manna’s next-generation drone prototypes, collaborating closely with colleagues across various disciplines.
• Deliver product design solutions that balance complex requirements, including dynamics, aerodynamics, acoustics, reliability, thermal management, and manufacturability.
• Own the design and validation process, developing clear documentation and procedures to support regulatory certification and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Lead and mentor a small team of mechanical engineers, driving the development of cutting-edge systems, test plans, validation reports, and technical documentation.
• Manage the full product lifecycle, from concept development through testing, validation, and final production, ensuring the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

EXPERIENCE WE’LL BE LOOKING FOR:

• Experience: 10+ years as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with a proven ability to deliver complex projects from concept to production in fields such as aircraft, drones, robotics, or automotive.
• Ownership & Passion: You are a self-starter who takes full ownership of your projects and thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of engineering disciplines like statics, dynamics, materials science, electro-mechanical systems, aerodynamics, thermodynamics and design for manufacturing. Extensive experience using 3D CAD software (Catia V5 or 3DExperience preferred) to generate parts, assemblies, and technical drawings.
• Simulation Expertise: Experience with CAE tools like Ansys to simulate mechanical performance and interpret advanced FEA models produced by our mechanical simulation team.
• Hands-On & Practical: You enjoy working through challenges on the ground level and take pride in making sure that every detail of the design is right.
• Collaborative Spirit: Strong communicator, eager to work with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and designers to develop world-class products.
• Regulatory & Compliance: Deep understanding of certification processes (e.g., FAA, EASA) and regulatory approval, including design verification and type certification for aviation-grade products or similar.
