Janet Owens

Janet Owens, SPHR has extensive work experience in the field of Human Resources. Janet most recently held the position of Human Resources Director at MANNA FoodBank, where they were responsible for linking the food industry with partner agencies in the 16 counties of Western North Carolina. Prior to this, they worked at The Andersons, Inc. as a Human Resources Representative and Employment Specialist. Janet also has experience as an Independent Executive Recruiter at RLHR/Charter One Bank. Janet worked at Charter One Bank in various roles, including Divisional Human Resources Representative. Earlier in their career, Janet served as the Director of Human Resources at Interstate Hotels & Resorts and as an Employment Representative at Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

Janet Owens, SPHR, earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they studied from 1982 to 1986. Before attending university, they attended Ellsworth High School, but no further information about their studies there is available. Janet also holds several certifications in the field of human resources, including SPHR from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI, obtained in July 2016, SRHM-SCP from SHRM, obtained in December 2013, and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from HRCI, obtained in December 2013.
