James Harter

James Harter is an accomplished networking professional currently serving as a Lead Network Engineer at ManTech since September 2023. In this role, James manages the deployment and maintenance of Cisco firewalls and VPNs, focusing on Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) and Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) equipment within the Lantern research and development program. Prior to ManTech, James held positions including Network Engineer and Network Administrator at STRATASCORP, where significant contributions were made in modernizing network architecture and implementing technical standards. James also honed expertise in network operations during tenure at Vectrus and began the professional journey in the United States Marine Corps, where responsibilities included supervising a Watch Floor team. James is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Network and Security from Western Governors University, with an expected graduation in 2026.
