Michael Leary, CFA has a diverse and extensive work experience in the banking and risk management sector. Michael is currently serving as the Chief Risk Officer and EVP at Manufacturers Bank since 2022. Before that, they worked at U.S. Bank as the Senior Vice President of Risk Management from 2012 onwards, where they were responsible for designing and deploying credit and fraud underwriting systems for lending and merchant accounts. Prior to that, they held the role of SVP - Risk Strategies Execution Executive at Bank of America Global Card Services from 1998 to 2012, where they oversaw underwriting systems for consumer and small business credit and debit products. Michael also worked as a Vice President at Fleet Credit Card Services from 1998 to 2003, leading risk strategies teams and building operational controls for the credit card portfolio. Earlier in their career, they served as a Supervising Examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and as a Senior Examiner at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

Michael Leary, CFA obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from King's College from 1987 to 1991. In 1998, they also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute.
