Amanda Chen, PhD has a diverse work experience. Amanda began their career in 2007 as an Advanced Product Engineer at 3M Taiwan Ltd. In 2008, they started as a Graduate Student and Research Assistant at Washington University in St. Louis. During their time at Washington University, they designed and implemented metabolomics experiments, developed new metabolomics technologies related to extraction, chromatography, and informatics, and had expertise in comprehensive metabolism/biochemistry to interpret metabolomics results. Additionally, they conducted in-vivo and ex-vivo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) including diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), T1- and T2-weighted imaging on brain and spinal cord of rodents, and determined the correlation between disease severity of multiple sclerosis, clinical score, and diffusivity maps. In 2017, they moved to Monsanto Company as a Senior Research Scientist. Amanda then transitioned to Bayer Crop Science in 2018 as a Senior Research Scientist, and most recently, in 2022, they became a Senior Analytical Scientist at Manus Bio.
Amanda Chen obtained their Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Tamkang University between 2001 and 2005. Amanda then went on to earn their Master's degree in Inorganic Chemistry and Material Chemistry from Tamkang University between 2005 and 2007. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Metabolomics and Cancer Metabolism from Washington University in St. Louis between 2010 and 2016.
