Eric Cheng Yue Fung

Eric Cheng Yue Fung has extensive experience in the legal field, with a focus on the real estate industry. Eric started their career as a Senior Associate at Allen & Gledhill LLP from December 2007 to December 2011. During this time, they gained experience in various legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions.

In December 2011, Eric joined Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd as a Director, Legal. In this role, they were responsible for the formation of private equity real estate funds and new investment vehicles. Eric also oversaw acquisitions, disposals, financing, leasing, and fund raising activities. Eric played a key role in structuring and negotiating joint ventures, funds, and partnerships, with transactions totaling over US$15 billion in multiple jurisdictions. Eric provided legal, regulatory, and compliance advice and served as the point of contact with regulatory authorities. Notably, they led the formation of the US$1.4 billion Mapletree China Opportunity Fund II, which was recognized as the Asia Capital Raise of the Year in the 2013 Global PERE Awards.

In addition to their legal career, Eric also has experience in the Singapore Armed Forces, where they served as a National Service (NS) Company Commander from 2013 to 2022.

Eric Cheng Yue Fung completed their LLB degree in Law at the National University of Singapore from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they attended Raffles Institution from 1995 to 1998 and again from 1999 to 2000, though no specific degree or field of study is provided for their time at Raffles Institution.
