Cliff McBain

IT Director (e&p Systems) at Marathon Oil

Cliff McBain has a long and diverse work experience in the field of IT. Cliff started their career at Pilgrim Systems as a Programmer/Support Tech in 1987 before moving to Marathon Oil Corporation in 1988. At Marathon Oil Corporation, they held various roles as an IT Analyst, IT Supervisor, IT Manager, and eventually became the IT Director. In their roles, they were responsible for a wide range of tasks such as managing applications used by different departments, implementing solutions that add value to the business, and providing support for various teams. Cliff has also been involved in significant changes within the company, including in-housing applications support and supporting the development of digital oilfield platforms.

Cliff McBain attended the University of Aberdeen from 1983 to 1986, where they obtained a BSc degree in Computer Science. In addition, they obtained a Master's Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University in 2004.
