Janel Margaretta has a strong background in the non-profit sector, with over 25 years of experience. Janel served as the Chief Impact Officer at MJCCA for 15 years, where they were responsible for financial resource development, management, and leadership development. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Philanthropic Initiatives at the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, where they focused on research and proposal development. Janel also worked as a Consultant at The Jewish Federations of North America, where they provided professional expertise for their annual North American Jewish communal event. Before that, they held various positions at the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, including Associate Campaign Director and Founding Director of the Mandel Center for Leadership Excellence. Janel also worked as the Business and Professional Division Director at the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County and as a Special Projects Assistant at the Council of Jewish Federations. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated a strong commitment to fundraising, leadership development, and program management.

Janel Margaretta attended New York University from 1991 to 1995, where they studied Drama and Speech Communication. In addition, they obtained a Certification in Meditation Teacher from mindbodygreen.com in 2017 and completed an Executive Coaching program at Harvard University School of Continuing Education.
