Thomas Olsen

Thomas Olsen has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Thomas is currently serving as the Head of Cloud & Connectivity in Global IT at Marel since September 2023. Prior to this, from October 2021 to July 2023, they held the position of Department Manager at Forsvarsministeriets Materiel- og Indkøbsstyrelse, where they played a crucial role in forming a solution architecture section and also served as an interim manager in the datacenter.

From 2018 to 2020, Thomas Olsen worked as the Head of IT Service at HOFOR A/S, where they had managerial responsibility for two management positions and oversaw daily IT service and operations. Before that, they served as the Head of IT Backoffice at Copenhagen Airports A/S from 2012 to 2017, responsible for IT operations, server management, and application management.

Thomas Olsen's earlier experience includes roles such as Head of IT Operations at Erhvervsstyrelsen from 2011 to 2012, IT Support Manager at Glostrup Hospital from 2008 to 2011, and IT Technician at MAN Diesel & Turbo from 1998 to 2008. Thomas also served in the Danish military in various capacities from 1992 to 1999 and worked as a Security Guard and Alarm Patrol Guard in earlier years.

Throughout their career, Thomas Olsen has gained extensive experience in IT management, operations, infrastructure, and support, making him a well-rounded professional in the field.

Thomas Olsen has a Master of IT, Leadership and Management from IT-Universitetet i København, completed between 2018 and 2021. Thomas also holds an Academy Profession (AP) Degree in Leadership & Management from KEA - Københavns Erhvervsakademi, completed between 2007 and 2010. Furthermore, they have a background in Organizational Leadership from CPH WEST in 2007. In addition, Thomas has a degree in IT Supporter from HandelsGymnasiet Mariager fjord in 1997-1998, and a degree in Metalsmith/Welder from Teknisk Skole from 1987 to 1990. Thomas also had a traineeship as a Sailor Cadet at Trainingship Danmark in 1987. Thomas has an additional certification in ATSEP Basic from CANI Institute Pragh, obtained in 2013.
