Sarah Hameed

Director of Blue Parks & Senior Scientist at Marine Conservation Institute

Sarah O. Hameed currently holds the position of Blue Parks Director and Senior Scientist at Marine Conservation Institute, a role began in June 2016. Prior to this, Sarah served as a Science Fellow and Postdoctoral Fellow at the same organization. Academic experience includes a PhD in Ecology from the University of California, Davis, along with positions as a Graduate Student Researcher in Marine Ecology between 2009 and 2016. Teaching experience spans several institutions, including roles as a teacher at Marin Academy and The Emery/Weiner School, and as a teacher naturalist at Westminster Woods. Sarah's early career included positions as a student teacher, research assistant at Brown University, and various internships in policy and public defense. Education credentials comprise a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Brown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy, also from Brown University, complemented by a high school diploma from Seabury Hall.
