MD, Institutional Relationships at Mariner Wealth Advisors

As managing director of institutional relationships, Rob leads the firm’s efforts in providing independent, tailored and expert advice to its institutional clients across a broad range of critical areas including governance, strategic asset allocation, portfolio implementation, monitoring and performance assessment.

Rob has more than 30 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to joining Mariner Wealth Advisors, he was chief investment officer, principal and managing director at Emcor Securities, a financial services firm headquartered in New York. At Emcor, he was the lead consultant to family offices, as well as corporate and public pension clients. He was responsible for the firm’s analysis of traditional and nontraditional investment strategies, asset allocation models and risk management solutions. Rob joined Emcor from Metropolitan West Asset Management (now TCW), where he served as senior vice president. He spent nearly 10 years as chief investment officer for the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, a multi-billion dollar, state-wide defined benefit pension fund. He also served for 10 years as lead portfolio manager for an insurance holding company and its subsidiaries.

Rob has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kansas State University.
