Katie Canavan

Katie Canavan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Katie is currently working as the National Sales Director for Rare Genetic Epilepsy at Marinus Pharma, starting in November 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Director of US Sales - East at Idorsia Pharmaceuticals Ltd from June 2021 to November 2023.

Before Idorsia Pharmaceuticals, Katie worked at Akcea Therapeutics, where they held two roles. Katie first served as the Executive Director and Head of US Sales from January 2020 to June 2021, and prior to that, they were the Senior Business Director for the Northeast region from April 2018 to January 2020.

Katie's earlier experiences include working at Genentech as a Division Manager from 2016 to 2018, where they were responsible for building and managing a sales team and launching a product in the multiple sclerosis market. Katie also served as a Regional Director at Biogen from 2011 to 2016.

Before Biogen, Katie worked at Sanofi Genzyme, where they held various roles, including Senior Regional Business Director from 2009 to 2011, Regional Business Director from 2005 to 2009, and Clinical Science Specialist from 2000 to 2005.

Katie also gained experience at Bristol Myers Squibb as an Oncology Sales Specialist in 1999, at EMD Serono, Inc. as an HIV Clinical Sales Specialist from 1997 to 1999, and at GSK as a Senior Hospital Product Specialist from 1996 to 1997, and as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative from 1992 to 1997.

Katie Canavan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Scranton.
