Richard Owusu-Awuah

Richard Owusu-Awuah has a diverse work experience in the financial technology industry. Richard is currently working as a Product Manager in the Regulatory Operations department at MarketAxess since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Wellington Management as a Senior Business Analyst/Project Manager in Fixed Income Technology from August 2018 to April 2022.

Before joining Wellington Management, Richard worked at UBS as a Regulatory Project Manager/Business Analyst in Fixed Income Trading Technology from July 2017 to February 2018. Richard was responsible for MiFID II venue outreach for the bank's FX, Rates, and Credit businesses and acted as a liaison between the trading, sales, technology, compliance, and sourcing functions and external fixed income trading and broking venues.

Richard also had experience working at GreySpark Partners as a Lead Consultant from July 2015 to April 2017, where they focused on business and technology process optimization across the front to back office fixed income trading functions. Richard worked with clients such as Franklin Templeton Asset Management, UK Midcap-focused Hedge Fund, Santander Corporate Banking, and UBS.

Furthermore, Richard worked at Cognizant Technology Solutions as a Senior Consultant in Capital Markets from March 2013 to July 2015. Richard provided financial technology consulting to tier one financial institutions and wrote a whitepaper on regulatory implications for Collateral Management of OTC Derivatives. Richard also had assignments at the Bank of England, Credit Suisse, and a large US post-trade services organization.

Richard's entrepreneurial experience includes co-founding TGBEX Limited, a cryptocurrency (bitcoin) startup based in the Isle of Man. Richard led offshore development teams, handled branding and product development, and devised the full operating model for the company. Additionally, they represented the company in the London and Isle of Man financial technology space and participated in bitcoin conferences and engagements with digital currency associations and media sources.

Some of Richard's earlier roles include working as a Consultant in Fixed Income & Derivatives IT Architecture at Credit Suisse and as a Consultant in Risk Management System at the Bank of England. Richard also worked as a Consultant in Banking Technology at Sterling Search and as a Fixed Income Client Specialist at Thomson Reuters.

Richard Owusu-Awuah completed their LLB degree in Law & French Law from UCL from 1996 to 2000. Prior to that, they attended Stonyhurst College from 1991 to 1996. Richard also attended St Richard's from 1985 to 1991. In addition to their educational background, Richard Owusu-Awuah obtained a certification as a Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager from Scaled Agile, Inc. in September 2022.
