Joanna Hwu

Joanna Hwu is a seasoned professional in the food science and technology sector with extensive experience in cocoa plant science and operations at Mars, serving as Senior Director since September 2017. In this global role, Joanna oversees plant science discovery research and sustainability initiatives. Previously, Joanna held key positions at Mars Wrigley, including Senior Director for R&D in Mexico and various leadership roles at Wrigley, focusing on gum formulation, regional innovation in Asia, and new product development. Joanna began a career at Kraft Foods Group as an engineer. Joanna holds a Master of Science in Product Design and Development from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
