Vice President Of Finance at Marshall Medical Center

Pamela Carlin, CPA, MBA has over 30 years of work experience in finance and accounting. Pamela started their career as a Staff Accountant at Adventist Health in 1990, where they later became a Senior Auditor and then a Senior Financial Analyst. At Adventist Health, they developed and implemented financial analysis policies and procedures for managed care and created computer models for hospital and physician risk sharing analyses. In 1997, they moved to Mercy Medical Foundation as a Senior Financial Analyst before joining Dignity Health in 1998 as a Financial Reporting Manager. At Dignity Health, they coordinated the consolidation of the Medical Foundation into the existing consolidated financial reporting and prepared monthly and audited financial statements. In 2000, they joined Adventist Health again as a Budget & Reimbursement Analyst, where they matured and maintained a contractual allowance/settlement calculation program for twenty-one healthcare facilities. In 2003, they became the Controller at Marshall Medical Center, where they supported the organization in achieving significant financial turnaround and oversaw the budgeting process. In 2014, they were promoted to Vice President of Finance at the Marshall Medical Foundation, where they direct and coordinates financial activities and contributes to the strategic financial direction of the organization.

Pamela Carlin, CPA, MBA has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Pacific Union College, obtained in 1990. Prior to that, they completed an AA degree in Accounting at Yuba College in 1988. In the years 1988-1989, Carlin pursued Business Administration and Accounting studies at the University of California, Chico. Pamela later earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Healthcare Administration from Western Governors University, which they completed in 2020. Carlin has also obtained various certifications including Certified Public Accountant from the California Board of Accountancy in October 2022, Crucial Conversations from VitalSmarts in 2019, Leadership El Dorado from El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce in 2019, and Lean for Leaders Certification from Marshall Medical Center in 2018.
