Sara Payne Scarbro has a wide range of work experience in government relations and external engagement. Sara is currently serving as the Associate VP of Government Relations at Marshall University. Prior to this role, they held positions as the Associate Vice President for External Engagement at Marshall University Research Corporation and as a Senior Advisor & Deputy State Director for U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, III. Sara also has experience working in political campaigns and in the West Virginia Governor's Office, where they served as Press Secretary, Communications Director, and Deputy Press Secretary.
Sara Payne Scarbro attended Winfield High School from 1994 to 1998. After completing their high school education, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree at Marshall University from 1998 to 2003. Sara'sdegree focused on Journalism and Political Science.
