Ronald Area is the Senior Vice President of Development and the CEO of the Marshall University Foundation at Marshall University. Ronald has been in this position since December 2004.

Prior to their current role, Ronald served as the President and CEO of the Oklahoma State University Foundation from January 1992 to December 2004. In this role, they provided leadership and direction for all activities associated with the Oklahoma State University Foundation.

Before their time at the Oklahoma State University Foundation, Ronald was the Executive Vice Chancellor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from May 1978 to October 1992. In this role, they provided leadership and direction development, alumni affairs, public relations, marketing, legislative relations , and the University of Chattanooga Foundation.

Ronald Area has a Doctor of Education from Oklahoma State University in Educational Leadership and Administration, General. Ronald also has a Master of Arts from Adelphi University in Applied Mathematics, and a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Arkansas in Mathematics.
