Alex Fotin

Alex Fotin has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Alex started their career as a Research Fellow at Argonne National Laboratory in 1996. Alex then worked as a Senior Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company from 2004 to 2008. In 2009, they joined Bridgewater Associates as the Senior Research Project Manager, and later became the General Manager of Portfolio Analytics from 2010 to 2012. Alex then served as Director of Hedge Fund Consulting at Barclays Capital from 2012 to 2013. From 2013 to 2015, they were the Head of Strategy and Special Projects at BlueMountain Capital Management. Alex then moved to TUDOR INVESTMENT CORPORATION, where they worked as the Head of Quantitative Infrastructure Initiatives in 2015. In 2016, Alex founded Alpha Factor Advisors, LLC, where they served as the Founder and Chief Data Scientist until 2018. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Quantamental Research at Marshall Wace, starting from 2018.

Alex Fotin completed a Master of Science degree in Engineering Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) from 1992 to 1998. Following this, Alex pursued a PhD in Biophysics/Computer Science from Harvard University, where they were enrolled from 1998 to 2004.
