Executive Vice President at MarshBerry

Wayne Walkotten joined MarshBerry in 2001 as Vice President/Senior Consultant in charge of the company’s Michigan office. In addition to merger and acquisition services, agency valuations, and financial management planning, he has assisted a number of banks with their entry into the insurance arena and focuses a significant amount of time with clients in the Employee Benefits area.

Wayne currently serves as an Executive Vice President and is a member of MarshBerry’s Board of Directors. Wayne is a vital resource in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, strategic solutions, business planning, perpetuation planning, and Employee Stock Ownership Plans. With the assistance of a staff of consultants and financial analysts, Wayne assists client organizations as they work to improve and realize their value.

Wayne currently maintains the FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE®) Exam, in addition to the Series 62, 79, 63, and 24 FINRA Registrations through MarshBerry Capital, LLC, the affiliated FINRA-registered Broker/Dealer of Marsh, Berry & Co., LLC.

Wayne is frequently asked to speak at bank and insurance industry conferences, and before agent associations and insurance carriers. He has been published in a number of insurance publications, including Rough Notes, American Agent, and Independent Agent and is a frequent contributor to MarshBerry’s proprietary publication, CounterPoint.

Prior to joining MarshBerry, Wayne was Chief Operating Officer of Grand Rapids Holland Insurance and Chief Financial Officer at Old Kent Insurance Groups, and he was a MarshBerry client until he joined the company in 2001.

Wayne is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Michigan and a Certified Valuation Analyst. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Grand Valley State University and a master’s degree in management from Aquinas College. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).
