Andy Forbes Mbe

Andy Forbes MBE, BSc (Hons), MSc ITSM, Dip IOD has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. Andy is currently serving as the Managing Director KSA at MARSS Group since 2021. In 2020, they held the position of Head of Middle East and North Africa Region at Airbus / Secure Land Communications. From 2014 to 2020, Andy Forbes was the Managing Director and Operations Director at GPT Special Project Management, Ltd. Prior to that, they worked at NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIAgency) from 2012 to 2014 and at NATO Consultation Command and Control Agency (NC3A) from 2009 to 2012. Andy also served as a UK Exchange Officer at CDID Experimentation Division from 2007 to 2009. Starting their career in 1983, Andy Forbes worked in various roles at the UK Ministry of Defence, including serving as a Major in the Royal Corps of Signals and as a Technical Officer Telecommunications at 2 Signal Regiment. Andy also worked at HQ ARRC as SO2 Communications Engineering and Coordination from 2005 to 2007, and at the Saudi Arabian National Guard Communications Project (SANGCOM) as a Foreman of Signals from 2000 to 2002.

Andy Forbes MBE, BSc (Hons), MSc ITSM, Dip IOD has a diverse and extensive education history. Andy obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in IT Service Management from the University of Northampton between 2011 and 2014. Before that, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Information Management and Technology at Cranfield University, but the program was terminated due to their departure from the Army. Andy holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Communications Engineering from The Open University, which they completed between 1996 and 2001. Additionally, they have a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Communications Engineering from the Royal School of Signals, a BTEC Higher National Certificate in Communications Engineering from 8 Signal Regiment, and a BTEC National Certificate in Communications Engineering from the Army Apprentice College, Harrogate, all obtained in the 1980s and early 1990s.

In addition to their formal degrees, Andy Forbes has also pursued professional certifications and training. Andy obtained a PRINCE2 Practitioner certification in Project Management from APM Group in 2009, a Level 3 Certificate in Designing and Planning Communications Networks from Fibreplus Ltd in 2012, and an ITIL Foundation Course certification from Learning Tree also in 2012. Furthermore, they completed a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (IoD) in 2018 and a Diploma in Company Direction in 2019, both focusing on Developing Board Performance.
