Michelle Bassett

Michelle Bassett, MBA has a diverse range of work experience spanning over three decades. Michelle currently holds the position of Director, Research Administration at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital since December 2019. Prior to this, they worked as a Business Administrator for their own business from June 2013 to December 2019. Michelle also served as the Manager, Administration and Program Support at Gilda's Club Grand Rapids from December 2011 to June 2013, where they held various responsibilities including administration, employee relations, human resources administration, project management, and grant writing.

Before joining Gilda's Club, Michelle worked at the Van Andel Research Institute from June 1999 to October 2011. Michelle served as the Administrative Manager of the Office of the Research Director and played a key role in overseeing office activities, establishing protocols, and developing policies and procedures. Additionally, they worked as the Administrator to the Director, where they presented information to management, assisted in the coordination and preparation of various materials, and actively participated in organizational committees.

Michelle began their career as an Executive Assistant at the National Cancer Institute from July 1992 to June 1999. In this role, they managed the daily activities within the director's office, handled complex scheduling, composed correspondence and reports, and coordinated recruitment activities.

Prior to joining the National Cancer Institute, Michelle worked as a Senior Administrative Assistant at the Marriott Corporation from September 1990 to June 1992. In this position, they provided support to executive staff in the areas of finance, client relations, quality assurance, and compliance.

Michelle Bassett, MBA, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Hood College, which they obtained between 1993 and 1998. Michelle holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Executive MBA from Davenport University, which they completed between 2010 and 2012. Michelle also studied Business Administration at Shepherd University from 1984 to 1988.
