Rob Sabal

Rob Sabal serves as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Maryland Institute College of Art since July 2023. Prior to this role, Rob held various academic positions at Emerson College from August 1997 to September 2023, including Professor, Dean of the School of the Arts, and Associate Professor. Rob has also contributed as a Fellow at the American Council on Education and as President of the University Film and Video Association. Previous experience includes being a member of organizations such as Filmmakers Collaborative and the Institute for Infinitely Small Things. Rob's earlier academic roles include Associate Professor positions at the University of Arizona and the University of Texas at Austin. Educational qualifications include a Master of Fine Arts in Film/Video and a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Media Studies, both from Northwestern University.
