Marvin-Alonzo Greer has extensive work experience in the field of historical interpretation and community engagement. Marvin-Alonzo served as the Lead Historical Interpretation and Community Engagement Officer at the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, where they worked on developing and curating the Sankofa Mobile Museum. Marvin-Alonzo began their career as a Museum Educator at the Atlanta History Center, where they developed immersive presentations and programs, facilitated community discussions on race and human rights, and supported curators in the exhibition process. Prior to that, they worked as a Program Specialist-Registrar at the Robert C. Williams Paper Museum and as a Communications Specialist at Morehouse School of Medicine.
Marvin-Alonzo Greer pursued their education at Morehouse College, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in History and African American Studies. Marvin-Alonzo completed their studies in 2015.

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is a bi-county agency empowered by the State of Maryland in 1927 to acquire, develop, maintain and administer a regional system of parks within Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, and to provide land use planning for the physical development of these counties. The agency gained responsibility for public recreation program in Prince George's County in 1970.
