Nikolai Korsun

Principal Algorithm Engineer at Masimo

Nikolai Korsun has extensive experience in algorithm engineering and software development. Nikolai started their career at Soft Solution GmbH as a Software Engineer in 1997 and then worked as a Software Developer at Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Inc. from 1999 to 2001. Nikolai later served as a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Cybernetics, Ukrainian Academy of Sciences from 1989 to 1999. From 2001 to 2005, they worked as a Software Development Lead and Project Manager at CardioMag Imaging, where they led the development of Magnitocardiograph software. Nikolai then joined St. Jude Medical in 2005 as a Senior Software Engineer and Senior Clinical Systems Engineer, where they played a key role in the development of algorithms and code for implantable cardiac devices. Nikolai led cross-functional projects and conducted research studies during their time at St. Jude Medical. In 2013, they moved to Physio-Control, Inc. as a Principal Algorithm Engineer, where they evaluated technologies and played a leading role in the design and development of Arrhythmia Detection Algorithm and simulation software for wearable cardioverter defibrillators. Nikolai'smost recent position is as a Principal Algorithm Engineer at Masimo, where they apply their expertise in algorithm engineering.

Nikolai Korsun holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine. Nikolai also has an MSc in Biophysics & Radiophysics from V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National State University, Ukraine. Additionally, they have certifications in C/C++ programming from ExpertRating, Certified Cardiac Device Specialist from IBHRE, and Technical Project Management and Leading Virtual and Remote Teams from AMA.
