Adam Baacke

Executive Director, Planning, Design & Construction at Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2)

Adam Baacke, AICP, is the Executive Director of Planning, Design, and Construction. Adam possesses a professional background of over 20 years in planning and development administration, project management, and design.

He is responsible for leading a talented group of architectural, engineering, design, planning, project management, and facilities information systems professionals in campus planning, capital project programming and development, real estate activities, campus construction, permitting, and facilities information management.

Prior to arriving at UMass Lowell, he worked for the City of Lowell for more than 14 years, including serving as the Assistant City Manager and Director of Planning and Development. He previously worked in various design, historic preservation, and community development positions in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire. Adam holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, a master’s degree in Public Affairs from UMass Boston and attended MIT’s program in Real Estate Development and Finance. He is an active member of several national and local planning and community organizations, including the Society for College and University Planning.

He is a member of the North Atlantic Regional Council of the Society for College and University Planning.
