Heather Fowles

Heather Fowles is an accomplished Chief Information Security Officer with extensive experience in information security across various prestigious organizations. Currently serving at the University of Massachusetts Lowell since February 2024, Heather leads a dedicated team in managing threat and vulnerability, incident investigation, and compliance oversight. Prior to this role, Heather was the Information Security Officer at Mass General Brigham from January 2019 to December 2023, overseeing the security program for multiple entities. Heather's career also includes significant positions such as Director of Information Security at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Director of Technology at DentaQuest, and managerial roles at Liberty Mutual and Metlife. Heather holds an M.A. in History of Science from Harvard University and a B.A. with Honors in History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine from the University of Chicago.
