Ernesto C. Martinez-Villalpando

Ernesto C. Martinez-Villalpando is currently the Head of Corporate Development & Innovation at MassChallenge. Prior to this, they were the Senior Director, Growth Strategy at PTC from January 2020 to December 2021. Ernesto has also been the Head of Wearables and creator of Solos Smart Glasses at Kopin Corporation from March 2013 to December 2020.

Martinez-Villalpando's research experience includes being a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University from January 2012 to December 2013, and a Research Assistant in Biomechatronics at the MIT Media Lab from January 2004 to December 2012.

Dr. Ernesto C. Martinez-Villalpando is a Biomechatronics Engineer who earned their PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Ernesto also holds an MS in Biomechatronics from MIT, as well as a BS in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Panamericana. In addition, they have a certification in Applied Data Science from MIT Professional Education and certifications in Advanced Growth Strategy and Growth Series from Reforge.

They are on a team with Matt Lashmar - Managing Director, Switzerland, Hope Hopkins - Head of Acceleration, and Robby Bitting - Chief of Staff. Ernesto C. Martinez-Villalpando reports to Cait Brumme, CEO.
