Jonathan Molapo

Jonathan Molapo, who most recently served as the CEO of Astron Energy, has joined Massmart effective as of 17 January 2022 as our new Chief Operating Officer. Jonathan brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served in various leadership positions over the last 25 years both in South Africa and internationally in various companies. In addition to his most recent role at Astron. Jonathan has also served in key leadership roles at Puma Energy, Total, Vodacom and Rank Xerox. In these roles, Jonathan has developed strong understanding of retail, particularly through his leadership of retail forecourt development in the petrol service station environment. At the same time, he brings with him a keen ability to delve deeply into operations and has the ability to develop and inspire teams – particularly in a matrix setting. Reporting to Jonathan will be Brett McDougall, Head of Technology, Martin Halle, VP Group Supply Chain, Trish Vosse, VP Central Operations and Terrina Pather, VP Group Data and Analytics.
