Raghu Malhotra

President - Global Enterprise Growth at Mastercard

Raghu Malhotra is co-president of International Markets at Mastercard, and a member of both Mastercard’s Executive Leadership Team, which sets and oversees the company’s strategy and priorities, and Mastercard’s Management Committee, which ensures the implementation and delivery of the company’s strategic priorities at a global scale.

Malhotra is responsible for advancing Mastercard’s business strategy, sales, business development, product management and engagements with customers and regulators in more than 200 markets across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Since joining Mastercard in 2000, he has held several leadership roles across geographies and functions. Most recently, as president for the Middle East and Africa, he drove the company’s global strategy across the region.

Under his leadership, Mastercard has expanded its collaboration with central governments and public sector authorities, partnering to enhance the region’s infrastructure and digital ecosystem. This includes developing a number of ‘global-firsts’ that are impacting the lives of millions of people: empowering citizens and businesses by creating interoperable mobile ecosystems; launching lending platforms which digitize and revolutionize supply chain management; bringing new levels of security to online and in-store purchases and introducing new energy and agriculture digital solutions to enable greater access and financial inclusion.

Prior to joining Mastercard, he served in a variety of roles at Citicorp, American Express and ANZ Grindlays Bank.

Malhotra is a member of the U.S. President’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry International Advisory Council. Amongst other board and advisory positions, he sits on the board of directors of the US-Africa Business Center US Chamber of Commerce, is a board observer at Network International and is a member of the World Economic Forum Africa Business Council.

He has received numerous prestigious accolades, including being named among the region’s top business leaders by Forbes consecutively from 2014 to 2021.

He holds an honors degree in Commerce and an MBA and is an alumnus of the University of Delhi, University of Melbourne and Harvard Business School.
