Hala Sawalha

Hala Sawalha is a seasoned professional in user safety and support with extensive experience in the tech and social services sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Safety Policy & Programs at Match Group since April 2022, Hala leads the development and implementation of user safety policies across various dating applications while managing operational oversight for escalated safety matters. Previously, as the Director of Trust and Safety Strategy at Hinge from 2016 to 2022, Hala spearheaded the Trust & Safety program, focusing on privacy, security, and compliance, and enhanced customer service solutions. Hala’s early career includes roles as a Youth Advocate at Hillside Family of Agencies and the Center for Community Alternatives, achieving significant success in student graduation rates. Hala began the professional journey as a Corps Member with City Year and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo.
