Randy Allen

Ranulfo (Randy) Allen, PhD, currently serves as a Company Building Partner at Material Impact since August 2023, focusing on supporting portfolio companies and market exploration for new ventures. Previously, Allen held the position of Managing Director, Boston at Activate, mentoring science entrepreneurs, and also undertook roles as Executive in Residence. Prior experience includes a Venture Associate position at Pillar VC, a Summer Associate role at Tech Council Ventures, and a Fellow role at Spike Ventures. Early career contributions involved research analysis at Frost & Sullivan and co-founding Pascalor, along with significant academic roles, notably as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Texas at Dallas and as a Ph.D. candidate at Stanford University. Allen holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University, a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
