Sharon Kamra

Sharon joined Material as Chief People Officer in July 2022. In her role, Sharon leads all aspects of the company’s employee experience, including people strategy, operations, and business partnership. She oversees recruiting, onboarding, compensation and benefits, learning and development, people systems, workforce planning, and employer brand.

Before joining Material, Sharon built her career at Sapient, SapientNitro, SapientRazorfish, and Publicis.Sapient, where she served as Chief People Officer and led recruiting as well as workforce planning, among other roles. Sharon grew the company from 5,000 to 20,000 employees, integrating businesses for ongoing transformation. She nurtured culture and people experience in the context of this rapid growth, with turnover rates consistently below industry average. Before transitioning into the people function, Sharon held client-facing roles in the customer experience space for 10 years. She started her career as a project manager at Ultradata.

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Education and a concentration in Business from the University of California at Berkeley. She lives in the Chicago area with her family, where they dedicate time and resources to alleviating food insecurity for vulnerable residents in the community.
