Silvie Plompen

Silvie Plompen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Silvie currently holds the position of Procurement Director at Materialise, a role they have been in since July 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Procurement Manager at Materialise from January 2021 to July 2022.

Before joining Materialise, Silvie worked at Milcobel, where they held various positions. Silvie was the Business Partner and Group Category Manager for Ingredients & CAPEX from May 2020 to December 2020. In this role, they were responsible for defining and implementing the group strategy for Ingredients and CAPEX and acted as a business partner for the Dairy Ingredients business unit. Prior to that, Silvie served as the Group Category Buyer for Ingredients, Contract Manufacturing & Indirect for four plants from January 2016 to May 2020. In this role, they gained experience in spend analysis, supplier analysis, and supplier relationship management while also collaborating with various departments on category strategies and optimization projects.

Before their time at Milcobel, Silvie worked at Manna Foods N.V. as a Buyer from January 2011 to December 2015. Silvie started their career at Makro Cash&Carry Belgium, where they held the positions of Assistant-Buyer Food, Assistant-Buyer Non Food, and Management Trainee from 2007 to 2010.

Throughout their career, Silvie Plompen has demonstrated expertise in procurement, category management, supply chain collaboration, and supplier relationship management.

Silvie Plompen completed a Master's degree in Communication Sciences at Ghent University from 2000 to 2006. Silvie also attended additional courses including a French advanced training course at Ghent University in 2005-2006, a professional purchasing training at VIB in 2009-2010, a Purchasing Management course at Vlerick Business School in 2012, and an Accelerated Management Programme at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management in 2013.
