Jacobus Lock is a Senior Robotics Software Engineer and Team Leader at Fox Robotics since June 2021. Previously, Jacobus served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Lincoln from April 2016 to June 2021, where Jacobus led the CERES-funded LaserBoom project, focusing on real-time mapping with 3D LiDAR technology on large sprayer vehicles. Jacobus has also held roles as a Doctoral Student and Research Assistant at the University of Lincoln, contributing to the ActiVis project and the National Centre for Nuclear Robotics (NCNR) project, respectively. Additionally, Jacobus worked as a Robotics Engineer at SAGA ROBOTICS THORVALD and as a Post-graduate Researcher at Stellenbosch University, where Jacobus conducted thesis research on quadcopter pose error estimation. Jacobus holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Lincoln and multiple degrees in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Stellenbosch University.
