Julian Wiffen

Julian Wiffen has extensive work experience in the field of data science and analytics. Julian currently holds the position of Director of Data Science at Matillion since June 2022. Prior to this role, Julian served as a Senior Data Analytics Manager at ICF, where they led the reporting and analytics team for the UK government's Green Homes Grant Scheme. Julian successfully brought the analytics of the troubled program back on track and prepared operational readouts for the Minister of State for Climate Change.

Before their role at ICF, Julian had a diverse range of positions at Cisco. Julian started as an IT Analyst (Contract) in 2002 and later became an IT Analyst (Permanent), where they worked on various marketing applications and led integration projects for acquired companies. Julian also served as the Business Architect & Portfolio Manager, implementing IT as a service mindset and managing system requirements. Additionally, Julian was the IT Manager and Service Owner for eStore, overseeing day-to-day operations and leading improvement initiatives.

Julian's work experience also includes roles at Novartis, RSL.com, Thames Water, Innovex, BMW Financial Services (GB) Ltd, and ZS Associates. In these positions, they specialized in database development, data analysis, and report building.

Julian Wiffen has a strong educational background in the field of Chemistry. They obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford. Subsequently, Julian pursued further education at the same institution and received a Master of Science (MS) degree in Artificial Intelligence in Chemistry.

In addition to their academic education, Julian has also obtained several certifications. They have a Matillion Associate Certification from Matillion, which was obtained in August 2022. Julian has also completed various courses at Matillion Academy, including "Matillion ETL Variables," "Universal Connectivity," and "Building a Data Warehouse using Matillion," all obtained in 2022.
