Frank Calamusa

Frank Calamusa, CSCP has extensive experience in manufacturing and supply chain management. Frank is currently the Sr. Vice President of Manufacturing & Supply Chain at Matinas BioPharma since January 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain from January 2021 to January 2023. From October 2018 to January 2021, they were the Executive Director and Head of Manufacturing and Supply Chain at the same company.

Before joining Matinas BioPharma, Calamusa worked at ContraVir Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as the Director of Pharmaceutical Development and Head of Manufacturing & Product Development from August 2016 to October 2018. From 2004 to 2010, Calamusa worked at Merck (formerly Schering Plough) as the Manager of Strategic Planning and Analysis. In this role, they assembled global supply strategies for key active pharmaceutical ingredients and made recommendations for manufacturing and packaging site selection.

Calamusa began their career at Schering Plough in 1997, where they held various managerial positions including Technology Transfer Manager, Strategic Project Manager, and Manager of Tablet Coating Operations. In these roles, they transferred new products from research to manufacturing facilities, partnered with R&D in product development, and executed site transfers of commercial products.

Frank Calamusa, CSCP holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology, General from Purdue University, which they obtained between 1983 and 1987.
