Bit Kelsey Facca

Kelsey Facca's work experience includes various roles in the environmental and wildlife biology field. Their most recent position was as a Biologist in training at Matrix Solutions Inc. starting in February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Wildlife Biologist at Wildlife Infometrics Inc. from December 2022 to January 2023.

From November 2022 to January 2023, Kelsey worked as an Environmental Technician at EDI Environmental Dynamics Inc., where they conducted water quality monitoring, coordinated with clients, and traveled to different locations. They also served as an Environmental Technician at the same company from May 2022 to November 2022, performing pre-construction bird nest sweeps and wildlife camera data analysis.

During their time at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) from September 2019 to May 2022 as a Student, Kelsey pursued a BSc degree in Wildlife and Fisheries with Honors. They also worked as a Research Assistant from May 2021 to July 2021, focusing on locating and recording bird vocalizations and capturing and banding birds.

They have performed tasks such as conducting assessments, surveys, and plant surveying, and coordinating with clients and construction supervisors.

Lastly, Kelsey gained early work experience as a Summer Student at the Town of Eatonia from May 2013 to October 2014, where they operated equipment, maintained the campground, and performed town maintenance tasks.

Kelsey Facca, BIT, has a diverse education history. In 2019, they began studying at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and is expected to complete their Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries in 2022. Prior to their time at UNBC, from 2012 to 2014, Kelsey attended NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology), where they obtained a degree in Biological Sciences Technology with a focus on Renewable Resources.

Additionally, Kelsey holds a High School Diploma from Kindersley Composite School, which they obtained in 2011. In terms of certifications, Kelsey has obtained several qualifications. Kelsey completed the Intermediate R and Introduction to R courses from DataCamp in January 2021. In December 2018, they received the Canadian Investment Funds Course certification from the IFSE Institute. In April 2018, Kelsey completed the Employer-Sponsored Retirement Plans - Canadian Course provided by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP). Kelsey obtained certifications from Astec, Danatec Educational Services Ltd., Aquality Environmental Consulting Ltd., NAIT, BOATSmart!, Alberta Safety Council, Government of Canada, Canadian Red Cross, and the Government of Saskatchewan for various courses, including Ground disturbance 201, TDG, WHMIS, Alberta Wetlands: From Classification to Policy, QWAES, Backpack electrofishing crew member, Pleasure Craft Operators License, ATV Certification, PAL, Bear Awareness, First Aid/CPR C, H2S aware, and a Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license.
