Emma Haak McKinley

Emma Haak McKinley has extensive work experience in content creation, editing, and management. Emma is currently working at Maven Clinic as the Senior Director of Content & Community, a role they have held since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Maven Clinic as the Director of Content & Production from February 2020 to October 2022.

Before joining Maven Clinic, Emma worked at WeWork as the Senior Content Manager for WeWork Labs from June 2018 to February 2020. Emma also worked as a Freelance Content Creator from January 2018 to May 2018.

Emma's career includes significant roles at Thrive Global, where they served as the Deputy Editor from September 2017 to January 2018 and as a Senior Editor from February 2017 to August 2017.

Earlier in their career, Emma worked as the Health Editor at OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network and Oprah.com from April 2015 to January 2017. Emma also worked as an Associate Editor at Prevention, Rodale Inc. from March 2014 to April 2015.

Emma began their career in publishing as an Assistant Health Editor at O, The Oprah Magazine, a position they held from January 2012 to February 2014. Prior to that, they worked as a Freelance Reporter and Writer for various publications and as an Editorial Intern at Mansueto Ventures - Fast Company Magazine.

Emma's work experience also includes freelance writing for Cape Cod Life Publications and RMS Media Group from June 2009 to January 2011.

Throughout their career, Emma has demonstrated expertise in developing and executing content strategies, overseeing daily content operations, managing editorial initiatives, editing and writing articles, and producing multimedia content.

Emma Haak McKinley completed their undergraduate education from 2006 to 2010 at Northwestern University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Their field of study focused on Journalism and History. In 2008, they also had the opportunity to study at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad, enriching their knowledge in European History and Culture.
