Abdelkrim El Amili, PhD, has a diverse range of work experience in the field of laser physics and integrated silicon photonics technologies. Abdelkrim has held various roles in companies such as MaxLinear, OEwaves Inc., Cruise, UC San Diego, CNRS, Laboratoire Aime-Cotton, and Institut d'Optique Graduate School. Throughout their career, Abdelkrim has conducted research, led projects, and developed innovative optical methods and devices. Their work has focused on areas such as intensity and phase noise reduction in solid-state lasers, optically reconfigurable integrated microwave photoconductive switches, plasmonic phase modulation, nanolasers, silicon micro-ring resonators, coupled semiconductor nanolasers, and topological and nonreciprocal semiconductor lasers. Abdelkrim has also worked on FMCW LiDAR systems for autonomous vehicle applications. Abdelkrim has published extensively and has experience supervising students and teaching subjects such as nonlinear optics, atomic physics, and free-space optics.

Abdelkrim El Amili, PhD has a strong educational background in physics. Abdelkrim obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physics from Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed their Master's Degree in Physics from Université de Bordeaux from 2004 to 2006. Before pursuing their master's degree, Abdelkrim received their Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the same institution, Université de Bordeaux, from 2001 to 2004.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Abdelkrim has also obtained several certifications. In 2021, they completed the certification program "Laser & Fiber with Zemax OpticStudio" at Zemax, LLC. In 2020, they acquired several certifications including "Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World (Blinkist Summary)", "Strategic Thinking", "Systems Thinking", and "Time-Tested Methods for Making Complex Decisions" from LinkedIn. These certifications further enhance their knowledge and skills in various areas.
