Coert Du Plessis (杜康)

Coert Du Plessis has extensive experience in a variety of roles and industries. Coert is the Chief Executive Officer at MaxMine, where they lead and scales the team to deliver productivity uplift in open pit Load and Haul. Coert also works as the Chief Operating Officer at MaxMine, focusing on securing funding and setting up the business for scalability. Additionally, Coert is a Member of Abundance360 and serves on the Advisory Committee for the Institute of Analytics Professionals of Australia (IAPA). Coert was previously the Head of BHP Data Strategy and the Co-founder of The Innovation Mine Program at BHP. Coert has also held positions at DataAlchemists, where they were the Data Chief, and at Deloitte, where they were a Senior Partner and Account Director. Coert has experience in various areas such as digital strategy, analytics, and technology.

Coert Du Plessis has a diverse education history. Coert attended Stellenbosch University from 1994 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Business/Management. Coert then pursued further studies at the same university in 1998 and completed an Honours in Accounting.

In 1999, Coert enrolled at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, where they studied Accountancy, Audit, Tax & Company Law and earned the designation of CA (SA) upon completion in 2003.

Continuing their professional development, Coert obtained the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) certification in 2001, further equipping him with expertise in Management Accounting, Business Strategy, Marketing, and Business Risk.
